The recruitment process has begun through the Trinity Recruitment Services on behalf of Royal Caribbean International cruise lines.

From May 3rd to May 13th, pre-screening interviews will be conducted inside Mall 34 in Bridgetown. The purpose of the interviews will be to assess the credentials of applicants to determine which job areas they would be best suited for.

This comes right on the back of Minister of Tourism Lisa Cummins announcing in a press conference last week that there will be opportunities for Barbadians to pursue jobs in the cruise ship sector.

Judeen Scantlebury, the CEO of Trinity Recruitment Services, who is responsible for pre-screening applicants, said that this is a good time for Barbadians to seek new options in new territory.

She said that over four hundred positions have been made available for Barbadians and after May 13th, candidates will be officially assessed by cruise ship managers.

Scantlebury also said that employment would be starting as early as June so it was important to be pre-screened as early as possible.

When asked what were the main reasons for Barbadians to consider this avenue she said, “Once you go abroad and start working you are able to look at yourself and your situation. They would be no overheads that apply to you like rent, food, and all of those things. Yes, it’s away from home but home is just one flight away. I encourage Barbadians to take the opportunity right now.”
