Musicians are excited to return to the studios after the return of Crop Over was announced.

After a two-year absence because of the COVID-19 outbreak, Barbadians will get to enjoy Crop Over this year, and musicians are just as excited as the partiers to return to the studios and release music again.

In a Press conference last week, Prime Minister Mia Mottley announced that Grand Kadooment and Fore Day Morning will be staged this year.

Producer Romel Ward, of Platta Studios, was excited about the restriction being lifted and is looking forward to the constant releasing of new music.

“It is a great relief to the entertainment community. Definitely looking forward to the new music coming out. I know a lot of the guys did not put out new music like before because they did not see a place for it,” Ward said.

Deejay from Renegade Sounds, Quincy Corbin echoed these statements while acknowledging that it has been hard for the last two years in Barbados for entertainers. Corbin also mentioned that producers and deejays can really count on Crop Over events for income.

“I'm really looking forward to what the guys have to release, because I know they have been sitting down on really good music for the last two years because there has been nowhere to release it [the music],” he added.
