Principal of the Barbados Community College (BCC), Annette Alleyne and Principal of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology (SJPI), Ian Drakes recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) of Academic Cooperation.

The agreement will foster greater collaboration between the two institutions. In the past, BCC and SJPI have partnered to deliver training in solar photovoltaics, under the Skills for the Future Project’s Competency-Based Training Fund. In addition to this, the institutions also partnered in areas of Agriculture, Land Surveying and Fashion.

The MOU formalises the partnership between the two institutions and is specifically geared towards the promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the BCC and SJPI. This will stimulate the enactment of measures that allow greater ease of transitioning of students between the institutions.

The principals recognise that there is a need for a greater streamlining of processes and offerings to allow the institutions to strategically allocate resources.
